By many accounts, I am considered a controls engineer. At TAC Americas, now Schneider Electric, I designed HVAC control system retrofits; at Maytag, and in most of my personal projects, I designed and worked with embedded controls; and at Belcan, I worked on a variety of systems including software controls for large mining and earth moving equipment.
In addition, I am considered by many to be a tool specialist and a general software programmer/engineer. Throughout my career and as far back as I can remember, I have enjoyed the challenge of making every task as efficient and error free as possible. When I learned how to write software, a whole new world of opportunity opened for me, and I have played in it every chance I have had by making software tools to do just that – improve efficiency and accuracy. I learn programming languages and techniques easily, and I am good at recognizing opportunities for software automation.
I am also an experienced mentor and trainer. From leading remote projects for TAC to being a Lead Engineer in the Belcan Controls group, and with 4 semesters as a lab and teachers’ assistant for Bradley Univerity’s Electrical Engineering Junior Lab, I have proven my ability to earn and retain the respect of those around me and to lead team members both in their projects and in their professional growth.
